Social Mobilization

Social Mobilization & Organization

Friends Foundation takes Social Mobilization as the primary means of supporting rural men and women in their efforts to change their lives towards poverty alleviation and organization. The essence of the process of social mobilization is encouraging men and women to form a group, typically consisting of 20-25 members, known as a Community Based Organization (CBO). Our experience shows that the CBO is an important forum for empowering people to take an active role in the management of local development initiatives. By ‘social’ is meant on the basis of common ground for a common purpose. A ‘mobilized’ community is one that is able to identify its needs and find the resources necessary to meet those needs. Those resources may be their own savings or labour, or funds or information from a Line Department.  In social mobilization & organization FF have strong relationship at grassroots level to create awareness among communities on the issues of poverty, health and education .FF has planned effective bottom-up strategies mobilizing people at the grassroots level to build self-reliance, empowering women as key change agents.   Our Strategies seek to build people’s capacities, leadership and confidence. We train women and men, equipping them with the skills, methods and knowledge needed to take self-reliant actions to improve their lives and conditions of their communities. Friends Foundation is contributing in the benefit of the communities through these activities.
